I liked it, good machine.

Hello. reference s-multi 525h It arrived this week I have been testing it and the truth is it has given me very good sensations I have tried it with 3.25mm electrodes it wears them as if nothing without effort very good electrode priming and very good arc stability, good results of the cord. welding with tig, the priming is great, I haven't tried the plasma yet. It seems like a good welding and cutting equipment to me.

Very good device

I have used this device several times for cutting and welding and am very satisfied with the performance of the device. The low weight also makes it pleasantly mobile

good device! But be careful with the thorium electrodes! there are healthier things out there ;)

I am very satisfied with the device. However, a warning notice on the electrodes with a red color code would be desirable as they release thorium-containing radioactive dust when sanded. It would be even better to sell the device directly with only lanthanum (or purely tungsten electrode).

Review of the combination welding machine "S-MULTI 525H" from Stamos Germany

Review of the combination welding machine "S-MULTI 525H" from Stamos Germany I am not completely inexperienced in welding and was looking for a modern device. After some searching on the web, I decided on a combination solution, and based on some good reviews, I made my choice on the Stamos S-MULTI 525H. I would then like to explain my experiences for all three functions in a differentiated manner. General: A combination device can be an advantage, but a big disadvantage is the endless conversion. "Just flipping the switch" isn't enough, the device has to be equipped differently for each function, so with MMA/MMA you usually need the ground cable on the negative pole, while TIG and PLASMA need the ground on the positive pole Of course, TIG requires a protective gas (Argon 4.6), while plasma cutting requires a powerful compressed air connection, but there is only one common input into the device. It is not possible to make a comfortable change using the included connections. I installed compressed air couplings here.Plasma cutting: I'm currently the least happy with this function, but I had zero experience with plasma cutting beforehand, I'm still in the experimental phase here. The included wearing parts certainly do not cover the learning curve. The good thing about it is that these are probably simple standard spare parts that can easily be found cheaply in large quantities on the Internet. You can see where savings have been made on the plasma torch itself, and the same applies to the TIG torch. Cheap micro switches simply fixed with cable ties, accuracy of fit at random. But at least for starters, these burners should hold up. If you want something better, you have to convert, more information on this in the "TIG" part. During one of my first attempts, the ceramic nozzle broke, so I couldn't actually make any suitable cutting attempts. I've ordered a spare parts set, let's see if it gets better then I'll update it here. TIG: As the other reviewers have already mentioned, only a red tungsten needle is included, which contains thorium; this easily produces radioactive dust when sanded !I recommend gray electrodes for universal use. If you search for the term “tungsten electrode” on Wikipedia, you will get a good overview of which types are hazardous to health. I did TIG welding several times during my apprenticeship, so I had fewer problems here. The included TIG torch works, but that's about it, when screwing on the rear torch cap it was very difficult to keep the seal in place. That's why I ordered an almost compatible burner from Stahlwerk, I only had to re-solder the plug for the control cable, but that was only a two-pole cable, where it doesn't matter which of the two points the strand is soldered to, it just has to The button on the torch can be switched on. We recommend purchasing at least a few tungsten electrodes and welding filler as accessories. I was quite satisfied with the welding results; weld seam preparation is extremely important. Impurities on the weld metal are very poorly tolerated by the TIG process. Unfortunately, TIG-ALU welding is not possible with this device due to the lack of an alternating current (AC) function. MMA electrode welding works very well with this device. Various auxiliary functions, such as "anti-stick" and good ignitability, are a big advance compared to the old transformer devices. The power of 180A is absolutely sufficient if you don't want to spend a whole day welding on excavator bucket teeth. 3mm electrodes are no problem at all. Choosing the right electrodes is extremely important when welding by hand. Poor welding results can quickly improve with higher quality electrodes. Here on Amazon, for example, there are "Oerlikon Fincord", which work very well: The electrode holder is certainly not the best, but it works, I've never had an electrode slip while welding, you just have to make sure that the electrode is in the right place Angular groove sits. The ground cable is obviously a wearing part, the copper flat strip that connects the two halves of the pliers has already burned out. Conclusion: With the Stamos S-MULTI 525H you get a device that can handle three functions more or less usably. MMA welding works very well , with TIG the basic needs are covered, with plasma cutting I haven't discovered anything yet that I couldn't do much better with a good flex, but I'm still learning here. I hope that this review has helped some people with questions I'm happy to answer if I can.
