Getting to Know Your Meat Grinder

For the purpose of this presentation, Michał selected two Royal Catering meat grinders – a smaller one (RCFW 70-600ECO) and a larger one (RCFW-300PRO).

The first one, despite its relatively small size, still makes a big impression. It can grind up to 70 kg of meat per hour. It operates at 600 W, which is quite substantial. The second meat grinder is a real beast! It can grind up to 300 kg per hour, thanks to its 1100 W power. You are looking at a truly professional meat grinder.

Testing the Meat Grinders

To compare both devices, Michał conducted a simple test. He ground 3 kg of meat in each and measured how long it took. What were the results?

The smaller model RCFW 70-600ECO took 2 minutes and 38 seconds, while the larger grinder RCFW-300PRO took just 1 minute and 13 seconds. The difference might seem small, but consider that 3 kg of meat makes about 20 hamburgers. Even the smallest eatery serves roughly 200 burgers daily, which is ten times that amount. Over a month, this translates to a difference of 10 hours! Calculating this with hourly rates, you’ll see that the larger meat grinder pays for itself within 2 years.

Which Meat Grinder to Choose? Summary

When running a restaurant, you know well how crucial every inch of kitchen space is, especially in small venues. The large number of kitchen appliances can make the space feel cramped. Keep this in mind.

A large meat grinder like the RCFW-300PRO needs a dedicated spot that it won’t be moved from. The smaller grinder, such as the RCFW 70-600ECO, can be conveniently stored away after use and is handy when you want to diversify your menu with a new item.

Michał Orłowski advises: always assume you will succeed! When planning your kitchen equipment, choose more efficient devices than you currently need. This way, you’ll be prepared for increased demand when you achieve success in a few months. It means paying a bit more initially, but in the future, you won’t need to invest in new, more expensive equipment.
