Do you have your own company and staff? If so, design your office so as to provide productive working conditions. Not only the decor is important, but also make sure that each workstation provides your employees with a high level of work comfort.

Office design – what office furniture should you choose?

The first step in designing the perfect office is to decide on the style. Without a doubt, minimalism is high on the list of current trends, which is very good news. Modern office furniture is simple and therefore timeless, so you can keep using it even if you decide to change the interior design after a few years. How should you design a modern office? Choose two or dominating three colours – for example, a current popular combination is grey and white for the walls and floors, and black office equipment. This will help you achieve a simple and modest, but very effective office design.

If, on the other hand, you dream of having elegant office furniture with a more luxurious touch, you can still achieve this within the limits of minimalism and good taste. All you need to do is choose some subtle, gold elements and delicately decorated office furniture – this should give you the glitzy feel you are after.

Comfortable office desks

The decor is an important part of the overall design – after all, your employees will be spending whole days in the office, so it should have a pleasant feel. However, the work comfort of each employee is even more important. How can you make each workplace fulfill the expectations of different people?

When designing an office, it is best to go for universal solutions. Let’s start with a look at the desks – is it possible to tailor them to the needs of both shorter and taller people at the same time? The answer is yes. A perfect solution would be a frame under the desktop that allows you to adjust the height – this will let you sit comfortably, but also work standing up.

You could also keep a few laptop tables in the office, which are easy to switch to when someone gets tired of sitting at the desk. This way your employees can take a break from working at their desk and work on a couch (if you have one) and give their stiff back and limbs a rest, without having to stop working.

Comfortable office chairs

Office chairs have quite specific requirements – they are usually swivel chairs with wheels and a high backrest. A lot of attention is paid to their design to ensure an optimal sitting position without putting too much pressure on your spine. A well-chosen office chair with a headrest will help avoid your employees from complaining about back, leg and neck pain.

An office chair should also be equipped seat height adjustment – this way you can adjust the chair to the desktop, ensuring a comfortable working position, regardless of the height. Backrest adjustment is equally important, as are armrests. All together these aspects should ensure a comfortable and safe sitting position for the spine during lengthy amounts of time spent working at your desk.

Conference room furniture

If you host clients in your office or conduct trainings for employees, make sure you have space that can be used as a conference room. Fortunately, this will not be tricky to equip. Place an office table in the centre, with chairs around it – these don’t have to be super-comfortable desk chairs, as meetings usually don’t last all day. Ordinary chairs with a backrest should do.

Hang a projector screen on the wall, opposite the projector itself, so that you can conduct trainings and meetings with the support of multimedia presentations. You will also need whiteboards or flipcharts in the conference room. Free-standing boards will be great for writing the most important information provided during meetings with the team, and those mounted on the wall can be used by employees to pin messages to each other or note important dates of upcoming meetings.
