The scale works excellently. Our pet loves walking on it - thanks to the large platform and non-slip mat. The result is extremely accurate. Without daylight, i.e. only with artificial light, the display is sometimes not easy for us to read at the moment, but we can cope with it; if we have bent over accordingly, we have been able to clearly read every single value so far. That's why I'm increasing the rating from one to four stars. 1 star deduction for the smelly rubber mat. Here are the instructions on how the calibration worked for me: Attention, Important: Place the scales on a flat, hard floor (carpet can make precise calibration and later weighing very inaccurate). 1. When the scale is turned off, press and hold the "UNIT" button for a few seconds and then press the "ON/OFF" button without releasing the "UNIT" button. 2. When the scale is activated, release the buttons. The message “CALu” appears on the display. 3. Select the calibration unit (kg; lb) by pressing the "UNIT" button. 4. Press the "HOLD" button. The set calibration value 020.00 is shown on the display. 5. A flashing symbol in the displayed calibration value indicates that the digit can be changed. Use the "UNIT" button to select the digit to be changed and use the "ZERO" button to increase the flashing value. 6. Press the "HOLD" button. The message “CAL” appears on the display. 7. Place a load with the set calibration weight on the weighing platform. 8. Press the "UNIT" button to start the calibration process. 9. A series of numbers will appear on the display during the calibration process. After the reading has stabilized, press the "UNIT" button twice. 10. The set calibration value is shown on the display. 11. Remove the weight from the platform. 12. Switch the device off using the "ON/OFF" button.
