Multifunctional measuring equipment with a mobile design
The lightweight clamp meter comes with two different options for determining measurement data. Taking measurements with the multimeter's current clamp has the advantage that you don't need to open the circuit to do so. Alternatively, you can also take readings with the included classic measuring cables. The temperature sensor can measure values from -20 °C up to 1,000 °C. The other measuring ranges lie in the following spectra: 600 mV to 1,000 V (DC) and 600 mV to 750 V (AC), 600 A to 1,000 A (DC), 600 Ω to 60 MΩ and 0 Hz to 9,999 MHz. The device is also equipped with TRMS for measurements with non-sinusoidal voltage and can determine the inrush current. All results are displayed with a generous count range of 5,999 count values.
With its small size and light weight, the digital clamp meter sits perfectly in the hand. The fact that it is battery-powered (6F22, 9 V; not included in delivery) also makes it ideal for mobile use. The automatic shut-off function ensures a long battery life. A symbol on the display will warn you in plenty of time when the batteries need to be replaced.
The clever clamp multimeter with useful extras
The current clamp meter for direct current / DC is equipped with multiple features that make using the device as comfortable and simple as possible. The LCD's background lighting enables you to easily read the data, which are shown in real time, even in poor light conditions. However, the hold data function also allows you to freeze readings on the display for a certain amount of time. The large rotary switch is used to select the functions and measuring range quickly and easily.

What are counts on a digital multimeter?
The number of counts indicates how many different values can be shown in the display. Usually the display is four-digit, as on this device, meaning that as a rule the first digit will only be either 0 or 1. This means the device can display a range from 0000 to 1,999, or 2,000 count values, with the decimal point at any position. Because the measurement range is always linked to the count range on measurement instruments with numeric displays, this also determines the resolution of the measured value. A digital multimeter with 2,000 counts, for example, has a resolution of 10 mV in a 20 V measuring range.
What does 'TRMS' or 'True RMS' mean?
TRMS is an abbreviation of 'True Root Mean Square'. A multimeter without TRMS can only accurately display the root mean square of sinusoidal voltage. If a non-sinusoidal voltage is measured, the RMS value of the voltage is not correct.
What do the different CAT classes mean?
CAT I applies to measurements on circuits that have no direct connection to the mains (e.g., battery operated). CAT II applies to measurements on circuits with a direct connection to the mains (e.g., household devices). CAT III applies to measurements within the building installation (e.g., distribution boards, wiring, outlets or switches). These measurements are only permitted behind the electricity meter! CAT IV applies to measurements at the source of low-voltage installations (e.g., meters, main connection, primary overcurrent protection). These measurements are also permitted before the electricity meter.
